Basket The basket (the part of the hot air balloon you will be inside) will be unloaded and mounted. A burner will be installed to the top of four “sticks” that line the sides of the basket securely. Gas hoses will then be connected to propane tanks inside of the basket. After a quick test to make sure the burner is working right, the basket will be fixed to the balloon– known beforehand as “the envelope”. The Envelope The hot air balloon pre-hot air will be taken out of a large bag. The tapered part of the envelope will them be attached to the basket to hooks along the burner. Inflation After neatly spreading the envelope out flat, it will then be inflated with cold air. After checking for holes, the balloon will then be inflated. During this hot air inflation, sand bags or hooks will be used to keep it on the ground.
